 Jiayuan holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and is currently a doctoral program student in Social Services at Fordham University studying culturally adapted mental health interventions. She graduated from Adelphi University in 2018 and has been practicing as a mental health counselor for children, adolescents, and adults since then.   

Jiayuan utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, strength-based therapy, and play therapy to treat clients from all age groups for anxiety, depression, trauma, family issues, relationship issues, and school/work-related issues. Jiayuan was born and raised in China and is very familiar with the cultural effects on people's mental health. She can provide therapy in both Mandarin and English. Her approach is non-judgmental and collaborative but also good at challenging irrational thoughts exhibited by her clients.
