Lisa Trentacosti

Lisa holds three master’s degrees, one in social work from Ohio State University School of Social Work, one in criminal justice from University of Massachusetts and one in psychology from Walden University. Lisa is currently working towards her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Walden University. She is a Licensed Social Worker in the State of New York. She is very empathic, respectful, and culturally sensitive. She began her social work career over 20 years ago working with children who were abused and neglected, families and the elderly.
She has extensive knowledge working with children and adolescents who have experienced and been exposed to childhood sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect and domestic violence. Lisa also has experience working with the elderly as victims of crimes, in hospice settings, and in nursing home settings. Lisa enjoys working with all individuals and helping them work through trauma, loss and grief, feelings of isolation and despair, life changes, anxiety, depression and any other challenges they are experiencing.
Lisa is trained in and utilizes various approaches with her clients such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and strengths-based therapy. She meets the clients where they are, allows them a safe space to express their feelings without judgement, and works with them to build a strong therapeutic alliance to help them reach their goals.
