Rick Spitzer

Founder & Chairman, LCSW, ACSW

Rick is a well-respected and recognized expert in the field of forensic social work. His forensic social work career began at The Legal Aid Society’s Juvenile Rights Practice in 1993. In addition, Rick maintained a private practice under the supervision under a Clinical Psychologist. Rick left Legal Aid in 1998 to open his own private practice, specializing in forensic and therapeutic services. This ultimately became Comprehensive Family Services. Recognizing the need for a therapeutic practice that could complement CFS and meet the mental health treatment needs of both Court involved individuals and families and the general New York City population, many of whom are underserved and lack access to high-quality treatment, Rick opened a second practice, Comprehensive Therapeutic Services. Although a separate entity, Comprehensive Therapeutic Services often works in conjunction with CFS to provide a full continuum of services ranging from forensic through therapeutic services. Rick endeavored to open a therapeutic practice that offers its clients a vast range of treatment options, allowing individuals and families to participate in an array of critical mental health services that are integrated in a single location. In Rick’s role as the Chairman, he advises the management team and guides the practice’s future direction.
